Because one pair is never enough.
Finding the best jeans for your figure is no easy feat. And with the rise of internet shopping (we know all about the steady stream of ASOS parcels coming in and out of your house), we’ve all become more averse to spending hours scouring the high street. What’s even worse than pounding pavements? The hot, stuffy and miserable experience of trying on hundreds of pairs of jeans, in the world’s most unflattering lighting, in front of changing room mirrors. Hear us when we say, it is not just you.
So why not be kinder to yourself and shop for denim online? You can have a trying-on sesh in the comfort of your own home, as well as testing several outfits options to see if they actually work with your wardrobe. We’ve made life a little bit easier by rounding up our fave pairs for every size, shape and style. (FYI, there are 25, so you might as well go ahead and order a few).
From on-trend straight- and wide-leg shape to cool-girl cargos and the legendary skinny style fashion just can’t shake off, these are the best jeans to shop on the high street right now.
Oversized Mom Tapered Jeans, £29.99, Topshop

These jeans are from Topshop’s ‘Considered’ range, which means they were made with eco-friendly production methods and less water. It just so happens that they are V. cool too, with mega wide legs and deep cuffs.
Childhood distressed high-rise straight-leg jeans, £300, Still Here

These are probably the most flattering jeans you can wear – slim enough to create a fitted silhouette but not as tight as skinnies. We love how natural the ripped knee looks, too.
Straight-leg jeans, £65, & Other Stories

The denim style the fashion world is most obsessed with these days is the straight leg. So if you’re keen to keep up, invest ASAP. & Other Stories’ high-rise pair is cut for a close-but-not-too-close fit and hits just above the ankle – perfect for showing off a sassy pair of boots.
Kiley two-tone high-rise flared jeans, £290, Veronica Beard

These ’70s-inspired jeans have contrast panels in the flared leg and buttons running along the front. Wear yours with platform shoes to add instant inches to your height.
Barrel cropped jeans, £115, Levi’s Made & Crafted

The barrel leg is Levi’s newest cut (it’s like a wide-leg style with slightly tapered hems) and we are obsessed. We’ve tried ’em and can vouch for how comfy they are.
Lillie high-rise cropped bootcut jeans, £275, J Brand
A white kick flare is basically a summer essential. The cropped hems on this J Brand pair are perfect for showing off sandals in the summer and ’70s-inspired boots when it’s chilly out.
Mid Blue Editor Jeans, £49, Topshop

Topshop’s Editor jeans took the high street by storm in 2018; after their release, the retailer could barely keep the style in stock. It’s not hard to see why – with the demise of the skinny, we’re all in search of something streamlined to wear with everyday outfits. Luckily, these babies are back in stock (for good, we hope) and now come in several different shades.
RIDLEY HIGH WAISTED SKINNY JEANS ASOS Curve, £25.00

The high street jeans scene is a tricky place to shop for girl with curves. If you don’t have endless hours to spend in shop changing rooms, order some stretchy skinnies online.
Straight-leg jeans, £59, Arket

Arket’s straight-leg jeans are a mainstay in the Scandi brand’s collections now, because they’re so damn popular. Made from organic cotton, they have a high waist and long hems – wear them long with heels or cuff them.
Chiara high-rise straight-leg jeans, £165, Reformation x NET Sustain

LA-based brand Reformation is about so much more than its floral-print slip dresses (although, they’re fire too obvs). These high-waist jeans have a slim fit through the leg and tie fastenings at each ankle.
Ribcage Straight Ankle Jeans, £95, levi.com

Ever felt your high waist jeans falling down or gaping while you bend or sit down? Levi’s is here for you with its signature ribcage style – a higher-than-high waistband which is guaranteed to stay put.
Black skinny jeans, £8.99, H&M

These jeans ring in at under a tenner, so we’ll probs take one of each six colours tbh.
Gloria belted high-rise tapered jeans, £315, Isabel Marant Étoile

There’s always a welcome abundance of ’80s references in Isabel Marant Étoile’s denim collection – the brand was one of the first to bring back that signature balloon leg. We like the drop crotch and gathered belted waist on this faded black pair.
HUSTLER FLARED HIGH-RISE JEANS MOTHER, selfridges.com

If you love your skinnies but want to switch things up, invest in a pair of cropped flares. They’ve got the same slim fit through the leg (great for topping with blazers and oversized jumpers) but kick out just below the knee to create a more interesting silhouette.
PAPER HIGH-RISE STRETCH-DENIM JEANS MAJE, selfridges.com £185.00

The lace-up fly on these Maje jeans are totally reminding us of Christina Aguilera’s Stripped album cover lewk. One word: ICONIC.
Extra High Straight Jeans, £40, Weekday

Spoiler alert: denim doesn’t have to be blue… or black, or white. Weekday’s highlighter yellow jeans are pretty darn cool too. They also come in other neon and more neutral hues.
LE PALAZZO WIDE-LEG HIGH-RISE JEANS FRAME, selfridges.com £255.00

Is it just us, or did Frame just re-invent the denim game? The brand’s La Palazzo style has the most incredible wide legs that sweep the floor – make the most of ’em with a pair of platforms.
Distressed mom jeans, £34.99, H&M

If you’re gonna do distressed denim, make sure you don’t risk looking like someone transported from 2001with slashes up to your thighs. Rips done well? They’ll be in naturally-occurring places like at the knees.
GOOD LEGS CROP SKINNY HIGH-RISE JEANS Good American, selfridges.com £145.00

If you’re still loyal to your white skinnies you’ll know all-to-well the need to replace them every few years. Khloé Kardashian’s denim brand, Good American is excellent, its ‘Good Legs’ style has an impeccably fitted silhouette and won’t gape at the knee like other stretch styles.
CROPPED HIGH-RISE JEANS OFF-WHITE C/O VIRGIL ABLOH, selfridges.com £520.00

The gradient finish on these kick-flare jeans look like bright pink spray paint, and we are into it.
High Rise Bootcut, £90, Levi’s

The bootcut might have died a little death back in 2006, but listen up, this shape will make you legs look long AF (especially when teamed with heels). Levi’s style are designed with a figure-shaping technology to lift and smooth your bod in all the right places.
Jamie skinny jeans, £40, Topshop

And before the Editor, there was Jamie – the skinny jeans that uniformed our teenage and university years. Topshop nailed the high waist before it was even a thing (we’re casting our minds back to 2008, people) and that unique spray-on silhouette that doesn’t stray into jeggings territory. We’re still huge fans.
Organic cotton straight-leg jeans, £69, COS

As far as we’re concerned, this is the classiest way to do white denim. The high-waist, wide-leg cut and pressed creases through the front keep these jeans feeling super smart – whether you wear them with heels or trainers.
Yoko wide-leg jeans, £40, monki.com

Monki is an absolute gem when it comes to denim shopping on the high street. Not only does it do allllll the cuts in allll the colours, it has a wide range of sizes too. We love how this wide-leg leg pair nods to the ’70s without feeling fancy-dress-levels of extra.
HIGH WAIST SKATER JEANS WITH CHAIN The Ragged Priest , asos.com £55.00

Remember when y’all wanted to look like Avril Lavigne? The Ragged Priest was obvs feeling nostalgic for those days, so it created these skater-inspired jeans: they’ve got floor-pooling wide-leg hems and a detachable chain. Checkerboard ties and sweatbands optional.
